About Me

Hello World! Welcome to my blog Soil to Soul! My name is Nicole Halverson.

I started this blog to share my interest of health, wellness goals, nutritional discoveries, and perhaps a step into herbalism. My journey into nutrition and health began in my last years of university. I was taking courses in my chosen degree of Fine Art when I had opted to take an election of psychology and another class of horticulture. This delved into a personal interest in mental health stemmed from psychology and the discovery of medicinal plants in horticulture. Two years later, in my final years, I struggled to finish well in my courses. Depression and anxiety came upon me and trapped me in a pit. Through personal choices, I never wanted nor believed the right step for me was to use anti-depressants to overcome. Instead with help from family, friends, food, and activities, I was able to overcome the depressed state I was in, and realized how much I grew to love nutrition and reaching health goals. Thus in 2021, I began my journey into becoming a holistic nutritionist, where I attended Nutrition Therapy Institute (NTI) to become a Nutrition Therapist.

This blog will feature personal discoveries of health facts, research articles, nutrition facts, ways to improve your health and reach your goals, and a little introduction to herbalism – a field I am looking forward to getting into!
